Reggie of ReggieNBollie has listed Ghanaian artistes who have the ability to fill the O2 arena, just as Wizkid and Davido have achieved.
The UK based singer named Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Sakordie, Ebony (If She Were Alive), Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba & Amakye Dede as Artiste he feels can combine and fill the 20,000 capacity O2.
“The line-up I have given is a combination of numbers and if you think it’s too much, that was the formula used by the organisers of the One Africa concert to sell out the Barclay centre in NewYork and Wembley Arena in London.”
Reggie also stated he had seen arguments on reasons why Ghanaian Musicians cannot fill the O2 like the Nigerians, but he feels it takes a combination of very resourceful and influential promoters and the star power of the artists to pull off a show at the O2.
“At the moment, some of the names above can fill up some of the smaller venues in London but to achieve that level of success, they would all have to come together and make it happen. until the time when their music leaks into the mainstream market n reaches the masses out here.”
He concluded by stating one of the major reasons for Ghanaian failing to enter the international music scene is due to lack of industry structures that can facilitate an easy transition unto the international market.
