Award-winning Ghanaian Christian recording artiste, Cwesi Oteng, dropped a brand new single titled ‘My Defence’ off his highly anticipated ‘Anthems’ album. The song is already generating buzz on the gospel music circuit with many reviews pouring on social media where the artiste prior to release of the song had teased fans with snippets.
‘My Defence’, is a reflective song of worship and faith. The song was released in two parts – ‘My Defence (Part 1)’ and ‘My Defence (Part II) (Reprise)’ which features Cwesi Oteng’s protégé, Curtis Quarcoo, an anointed budding vocalist from his Flo’Riva Inc team.
According to the artiste, ‘My Defence’ is the last prelude single to be released before the full album is released in September 2018. He added that, ‘’This song, ‘My Defence’, is psalm of faith and confidence in Jesus. It is an anthem of refuge and habitation, hope for the lost and broken-hearted, and deliverance for the oppressed. I pray it encourages and strengthens listeners to journey on no matter the challenges and difficulties thrown at them.”
Cwesi Oteng’s ‘Anthems’ album when released is expected to be another landmark music album from the artiste to greatly impact the gospel and consequently mainstream music scene in Ghana owing to its distinct sound. This was a similar path travelled by his award-winning ‘Mercy Project’ album that impacted the gospel music circuit with uncompromising stance on excellence in music and videos production, and the unique fusion of rhythms and genres which hitherto were relatively known about mainstream Ghanaian gospel music.
The album’s prelude singles, ‘Next in Line’, ‘Great Are You Lord’ and ‘With Everything’ are already enjoying breaking new grounds with rotation on celebrated Christian and secular radio and TV platforms across Africa and Europe.
