BREAKING: FIFA selects USA, Mexico and Canada to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup

USA, Canada and Mexico will host the FIFA World Cup in 2026 after it saw off competition from Morocco at the FIFA Congress held today.

The 2026 World Cup will head to North America for the fourth time and will be the first time the tournament will host 48 nations.

The joint bid won 134 votes (67 percent) out of the 203 entitled to vote with Morocco bagging 65 (33 percent) when voting took place in Moscow on Wednesday, a day ahead of the Russia World Cup 2018.

USA hosted the World Cup previously in 1994 while Mexico hosted it in 1970 and 1986. Canada however has never hosted the FIFA World Cup.
