South African singer Sho Madjozi has announced she’s signed unto American label Epic Records.
She joins the likes of Future and Travis Scott as the only South African act on the label.
Sho Madjozi had a hugely successful 2019 when he single John Cena went global and became one of the biggest songs in the world.
In a tweet, Sho Madjozi wrote;
You’re looking at the newest signee at Epic Records US!! Iyah
The Limpopo singer made her debut in 2017 but it took 2019 to turn her life around.
Chairman and CEO of Epic Records Sylvia Rhone, praised Sho Madjozi for being brave and remarkable as she welcomed Sho Madjozi to Epic Records.
“African artists are enjoying an unprecedented level of visibility in music and Sho Madjozi is beautifully waving the flag for South Africa. She’s bold, brilliant, and remarkably talented and her music embodies all that is special about her homeland. We’re honored to have her as the newest member of the Epic family.”
Sho Madjozi is a recipient of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards as “Favorite African Star” the “Best New International Artist” at the BET Awards 2019 and “Entertainer of the Year” from Forbes.
Epic Records is owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
