Virgil Abloh was the creative director for Burna Boy’s next album

On Sunday 28th November the world was shocked with the sudden death of Ghanaian-American fashion designer and entrepreneur Virgil Abloh.

He was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection and also the CEO of the Milan-based label Off-White. According to statement released by the family of Virgil, the creative designer battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma.

He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.

Grammy Award-winning Singer Burna Boy revealed via his Instagram story that Virgil was working together with him to be the creative designer for his next studio album.

Burna Boy also revealed how he regrets not talking about the well being of Virgil.

Burna Boy who’s last album earned him his first Grammy award for Best Global Music Album was also a close friend of Virgil Abloh.

Virgil has also worked on some incredible albums including Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Asap Rocky’s Long Live A$AP, Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise and more.

Virgil was on the verge to add Burna Boy’s next album to his catalogue of albums he has worked on as a creative designer until his life was cut short by cancer.
