Ghanaian singer Amaarae has earned a nomination at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA).
She was nominated in the Best African Act category alongside Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Focalistic (South Africa), Tems, and Wizkid (Nigeria).
Reacting to her Nomination, Amaarae revealed she thought her nomination was a prank from a fan, only to realize she had indeed been nominated.
One of my followers just tweeted I was nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award @mtvema and I thought they were capping but look – She tweeted with a screenshot of her nomination on the EMA voting platform.
She joins the likes of Samini (2007), Sarkodie (2012), and Fuse ODG (2013) in earning nominations for Ghana at the MTV EMA.
Amaarae is currently on her Crazy Wurld Tour, and she will be performing in Europe from November, playing at Manchester, London, and Paris
