Herschel Snyders, famously known as HERSH, is a 24-year-old songwriter and producer hailing from Grassy Park, Cape Town. HERSH’s immense talent was discovered at the tender age of 15 when his friends encouraged him to enter a high school talent show. Growing up, he pursued a career in professional football but never signed. Living with regret, he turned to music as his therapy, which later turned into his ultimate passion.
With over four years of experience in songwriting, producing, and performance, this R&B sensation takes control of every aspect of his craft from start to finish – ensuring an exceptional body of work from vocals right down to mixing and mastering. His signature style has influences of old school and new school Hip Hop beats, making his sound versatile and unique.
One of his special projects was Red Bull Made in 72 Hours, where he collaborated with Gina Jeanz and Juzzy CPT. This entire project was done virtually, and artists had to record their own verses to create the song, Tonight. “We each had 24 hours to do our part of the song. But I’m used to this, it all comes with practice. We were done with everything in 48 hours.”
HERSH is a proud Capetonian and wants to showcase Cape Town’s hidden talents and gems. “We have a lot of talent that people don’t get to see. I like to bring up Cape Town artists and showcase that talent.”
