Nigerian artist, Davido‘s performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert has premiered.

It is part of a series of artist performances on the platform of the media organisation for Black History Month.

Davido’s four-song set was performed from his house in Lagos, Nigeria.

Backed by Alternate Sound band, he performed stripped versions of his songs ‘Gobe,’ ‘Aye,’ ‘ Risky’ featuring Popcaan from the 2019 album A Good Time and ‘Jowo‘ from his 2020 album A Better Time.

“A Nigerian American like myself that studied in the States…I went to an HBCU, you know… My dad went to one as well and my dad used to work at Burger King. … To become what he’s become today as a Black man starting off in America has been very, very inspiring to me,” stated Davido after the performance of the first song.
