Grammy winning singer and songwriter, Stevie Wonder has disclosed why he wants to permanently relocate to Ghana.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, he shared that the decision was necessitated by the need to save generations after him from racial injustice.
“..I want to see this nation smile again, and I want to see it before I travel and move to Ghana,” stated Wonder.
”..because I don’t wanna see my children’s children’s children having to say ‘oh please like me, please respect me, please know that I am important, please value me…’. What kind of shit is that?”
The legendary artiste had previously spoken about moving to Ghana in 1994.
“There’s more of a sense of community there,” remarked Wonder to an audience at the International Association of African American Music.
