Ghanaian artist, Stonebwoy is questioning why the board and organisers of the Ghana Music Awards didn’t meet with him before lifting its ban on him.
On February 12, the organisers put out a statement stating that a decision has been made to officially lift the indefinite ban imposed on the former and Shatta Wale following an altercation at the 2019 edition of the awards.
“Dear VGMA Board & Scheme organisers, I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music. If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes/ our reps b4 reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public.” reads a tweet by Stonebwoy in response to the lifting of the ban.
The right to be heard is a principle that applies in every noble society. Even the all-seeing God, who had already seen and knew all that Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden, still made sure he heard them before he took action against them. #IfTheySoDesire really???”
The lifting of the ban means the two artistes qualified to file for nominations for this year’s edition. It is, however, unknown if they did submit entries.
