WATCH: Fireboy DML makes U.S. late-night TV debut

Nigerian artist, Fireboy DML made his U.S. late-night TV debut this week.

He was a musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Fireboy, backed by a band and dancers performed a medley of ‘Champion’ and ‘Vibration’ from his ‘Apollo’ and ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’ projects.

Early this year, Fireboy DML was named as part of Youtube’s Black Voices Artist Class of 2021.

He is one of three African artists who will benefit from the #YoutubeBlack Voices Fund – a $100m global fund instituted by the American online video-sharing platform.

“I make Afrobeats, but with a bit more soul and lyricism. That’s the spice I bring that makes me different. I’m inspired by human emotions and how they affect our decisions. And I’m on a mission to further cement my sound in other parts of the world, pushing Afrobeats to the global scene,” remarked Fireboy DML when the announcement was made.

Fireboy DML is known professionally as Adedamola Adefolahan.

He is signed to YBNL Nation, an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide.
