South African rapper Nomuzi Mabena, professionally known as Moozlie has advised upcoming artists to grow with their friends who are also starting a profession around the arts.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the South African Music Week on the topic ‘Woman to Woman in the Music Industry’ with Lerato Kganyago, and hosted by Kyle Cassim.
The rapper was reminiscing on how she began her career and asked those on the come-up to grow with their friends who starting up in Public Relations, Photography and more.
She stated it was less expensive that way, rather than becoming popular and trying to book people for that technical stuff.
Moozlie also advised artists to connect with people, as connection is gold in the industry.
To wrap up her conversation, She also told new talents to learn and research and know their ‘stuff’ before approaching others for help.
Nomuzi Mabena, professionally known as Moozlie is a rapper and television presenter. Born in Benoni, Gauteng, she won the MTV VJ Search for the year 2012.
