Funke Akindele’s ‘Omo Ghetto’ becomes highest-grossing Nigerian film
Funke Akindele-Bello’s ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ is the highest grossing Nigerian movie of all time.
A statement by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), says the movie has grossed N468,036,300 (equivalent to $1,223,624.27) so far.

Also, the directorial debut of JJC Skillz, the movie breaks the four-year record previously held by Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 comedy movie ‘The Wedding Party’ – with N453,000,000 (over $1,184,313.)
At third place currently is ‘The Wedding Party 2’ with N433,197,377 (over $1,132,542)
“Just want to inform y’all that Funke Akindele is about to break the WEDDING PARTY 1 record… If she hasn’t broken it already,” reads a tweet by Adetiba.
“If you understand how INCREDIBLE this feat would be in a non-covid year, then you’ll understand even how more crazy it is in a covid year. I’m GINGERED!”
