New York based duo G4 Boyz have postponed a performance slated for January 22 at the Area Bar located in Osu, Accra due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Ghana has seen a spike in cases of COVID-19, leading to the Government re-enforcing the ban on bars, beaches and clubs after informally easing of restrictions during the Christmas festivities.
After President Akufo-Addo’s last address, a section of social media users tagged the president’s account with flyers of the G4 Boyz’s appearance in Ghana.
We can’t tell if that is what led to the cancellation, but we can say G4 Boyz are working on a new date for the gig.
In a tweet they wrote;
Sorry guys but due to measures beyond our control, cause of the recent Covid -19 lockdown, we have to postpone our show in Ghana at @TheAreaBar, sorry to everyone who was waiting to see us. Working on a new date now
G4 Boyz consists of Ice Baby and Buggy, two brothers of Nigerian and Ghanaian descent from Staten Island.
Their genre of music is a flashy, energetic blend of trap and gangsta rap, with lyrical topics regularly focusing on money, sex, and violence.
