#MuseBOTY20: Adina is the only female artist with a Top 10 Most Played song

Ghanaian singer, Adina Thembi stands tall as the only female artist to score a spot on the Top 10 Most Played songs list in the year 2020.

The Stonebwoy-assisted ‘Take Care of You’ gained 1988 spins, leading to the number six position on Muse Bangers of the Year – the multi-platform music project instituted to shine more light on the songs which dominated the Ghanaian radio landscape in the year 2020.

It also looked to reiterate the power and relevance of radio platforms in shaping the taste of consumers and amplifying the works of music talents.

Only songs from Kidi, Stonebwoy and Darkovibes beat her to the number 1 spot.

She is also the highest played female singer with 2382 spins with just two songs. That feat earns her a spot in the top played artists at number 6.

A two-hour immersive show hosted by Antoine Mensah aired on partner radio stations, Asaase Radio 99.5 in Accra, Pure 95.7 FM in Kumasi, and on Empire 102.7 FM in Takoradi over five consecutive days between Saturday, December 26 to Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

The show featured tastemakers and stakeholders in the Ghanaian music space, sharing their hot takes on the songs and artists who made the charts.

Muse Bangers of the Year 2020 focused on songs released between January 1st and November 30th, 2020. The data size covered over 8, 000 songs that have been tagged and tracked by the artificial intelligence platform built by technology partner for the initiative, GHUD Music, and covering several genres.
