It’s time to reveal the number one song on Muse Bangers of the Year 2020 – the multi-platform music initiative to highlight the songs that dominated the Ghanaian radio landscape for the year 2020.
Before that, let’s recap what happened over the past four days.
*The song must have been released by a Ghanaian artiste between January 1 and November 30, 2020.
*The song must have been played on radio for at least 40 seconds
*The ranking is based on airplay data provided by our partner, GHUD MUSIC, Ghana’s leading audio monitoring and analysis service provider that tracks music and other audio products across 80 market leading radio stations all year round providing valuable data and analytics to brands and talents.
The data size covered over 8, 000 songs that have been tagged and tracked by GHUD Music across 80 radio stations.

20. ‘Mene woa’ – Epixode ft. Sarkodie
Ghanaian dancehall singer Epixode enters the top 20 most played songs on radio with Mene Woaa featuring Sarkodie.
The record had 945 spins.
19. ‘Behind The Scenes’ – Kofi Kinaata
Kofi Kinaata’s Behind the scenes’ produced by TwoBars earned 962 spins.
18. ‘Bumper’ – Sarkodie
Released in the early part of 2020, Bumper took its time to fly, and become a banger.
It earned 985 spins.
17. ‘One Man’ – Kidi ft. Adina
One of the standout songs off the Blue EP, One Man gained 994 spins
16. ‘African Party’ – Stonebwoy
Off Stonebwoy’s Anloga Junction, African Party earned 997 spins.
15. ‘Fa Hooki Me’ – Sarkodie ft. Tulenkey
Fa Hooki me was released during the ‘bring back Azonto’ period.
The single produced by pee on the beat, is Sarkodie’s biggest radio record of 2020 with 1005 spins.
14. ‘MOMO’ – Kelyvnboy ft. Darkovibes & Mugeez
‘MOMO’ by the afrobeats bad man Kelvynboy featuring Darkovibes and Mugeez takes the number 14 spot.
The song enjoyed 1029 spins.
13. ‘Later’ – Mr. Drew ft Kelvynboy
Overall Mr Drew had a great year, and Later was his biggest record with 1138 spins on radio.
12. ‘Ahobrase3’ – Yaw Sarpong & The Asomafo ft Sarkodie
Ahobrase3 is the highest charting gospel song on the countdown gaining 1172 spins on radio.
11. ‘No Dulling’ – Keche ft. Kuami Eugene
Keche had a great year and enjoyed their first major hit record after signing to GEM Media.
‘No Dulling’ featuring Kuami Eugene and was one of the biggest bangers on radio from the third to the fourth quarter. The record enjoyed 1271 spins.
10. ‘Long Life’ – Fameye ft. Kwesi Arthur
Fameye’s ‘Long Life’ featuring Kwesi Arthur comes in at number 10. The song earned 1346 spins.
9. ‘Open Gate’ – Kuami Eugene
Kuami Eugene opened the way for his sophomore album titled Son of Africa with ‘Open Gate’ – thanks to the famous line “Wole s3b3 kontomire.” It earned 1768 spins.
8. Putuu Freestyle (Pray) – Stonebwoy
Initially leaked by unknown individuals, Putuu became an anthem in 2020. Stonebwoy turned it around and had a banger.
Putuu had 1827 radio spins.
7. ‘Asabone’ – Lord Paper & Bosom Pyung
Taking us back to the 90s, Lord Paper with the help of Bosom P-Yung, gave us Asabone. The Borga highlife replica, had an equally dope visual to match.
It got 1900 spins.
6. ‘Take Care of You’ – Adina ft. Stonebwoy
Adina Thembi is the only female in the top 10 songs and she did it courtesy her early year release ‘Take of you’ featuring Stonebwoy.
It had 1988 spins.
5. ‘Sobolo’ – Stonebwoy
A celebration of highlife, Stonebwoy celebrated Dr Paa Bobo with this beautiful piece titled Sobolo, which was recorded live with his BHIM Band.
It got 2151 spins.
4. ‘Inna Song’ – Darko Vibes ft. King Promise
Although, he had a quiet album in Kpanlogo, Inna Song featuring King Promise proved to be a break out hit for Darkovibes.
The single garnered 2313 spins.
3. ‘Nominate’ – Stonebwoy ft. Keri Hilson
One of the big international features in Ghana, ‘Nominate’ featuring Grammy nominated Keri Hilson, who came out of a 2 year musical hiatus for this one.
The record earned 2382 spins on radio.
2. ‘Say Cheese’ – Kidi
KiDi definitely had a memorable year. He was digitally cashing out whilst Ghana was on lockdown.
‘Say Cheese’ is the biggest song off KiDi’s Blue EP, and one of the biggest songs in the country during and after the lockdown.
It had 2463 radio spins.
- ‘Enjoyment’ – Kidi
KiDi started the year with the bang, with Enjoyment being an instant hit.
It is no surprise it had the most plays, as the single is still a fan favorite. ‘Enjoyment’ did bring some controversy after Flava of Kwamz and Flava accused KiDi of copying his viral social media chant ‘Enjoyment.’
Though it was later settled, it was revealed King Promise declined to be on the single because of his relationship with Kwamz and Flava.
Enjoyment had a massive 4722 spins on radio.
