To herald the 2020 festive season, a number of pre-Christmas concerts, if you will, were held over the weekend – on Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20.
Muse Africa’s Maritha Brooth has the details on concerts headlined by Efya, Kwabena Kwabena, E.L and Kofi Kinaata this past weekend below.
Ghana experienced its first Drive-in music show dubbed ‘Somewhere In Ghana.’ It was headlined by award-winning singer, Efya on Saturday, December 19.
Held at the Untamed Empire behind the Accra Mall, it saw the ‘Until The Dawn’ crooner treat the audience at unique musical experience to a good show.
The attendees also loved the duets from Efya and Sarkodie, Efya and Medikal, Medikal and Joey B, Darko Vibes and King Promise, Kwabena Kwabena and Efya, and Mzvee and Efya.
There were individual performances by King Promise, and Gyakie, also.
Attendees jammed the night away with great music in, and on top of their cars.
Efya and Kwabena Kwabena headlined the ‘Wakanda Live Concert’ at the Wakanda Beach Resort on Sunday, December 20.
The former performed a number of her hit songs including the Sarkodie-featured ‘Jorley’ and ;Ankwadobi’ featuring Medikal. She told the excited crowd music saved her and makes her happy.
Kwabena performed songs including Aso, Bibini ba, Tuamudaa, and Meye. The beautiful scenery at the beach with fans hanging out in beach wears added to a relaxing night.
Martin King Arthur, popularly known as Kofi Kinaata, came through with his ‘A night with Kofi Kinaata’ show on Saturday, December 19 at the +233 Bar and Grill located on the Ring Road.
He thrilled his fans to songs from his catalog including the recently released ‘Something Nice’ featuring Nigeria’s Patoranking.
His stage craft was well received by the audience, who were also impressed with his comedy chops.
Rapper, Singer and Producer Elorm Adablah, known as EL headlined the fifth edition of his annual Best African Rapper (B.A.R) concert at the Alliance Française d’Accra on Saturday, December 19.
He was supported at the well-attended event by the likes of Gyakie, AI, Joey B, Dope Nation, Tulenkey, and Episode.
The concert also served as a platform for a number of upcoming artistes including The Postman, Yung Pabi, Sixfive, Kimilist, Kojo Vypa to showcase their craft to the teeming audience at the show.
E.L showed his appreciation to his colleagues and fan base (ELiens) for making the show memorable.
