Ghanaian AfroDancehall Singer and Songwriter is calling out every African artist with the name ‘Boy’ to pay royalties to him. The ‘Ololo’ hit-maker made this claim in an interview with Pulse Nigeria where he shared a brief history about his stage name ”Stonebwoy”.
According to Stonebwoy the initial stage name he had in mind was ‘Rudeboy’ which later switched to ‘Stonebwoy’ for the desired effect. He also explained why he spells his boy with a ‘w’ instead.

“It was going to be Rudebwoy, but I was like ‘Rude?’ ah… I then felt I’d just keep the ‘Stone’ from my name over there and add the ‘Bwoy’ for desired effect,” he jokes. “I actually think all the African artists who have ‘Boy’ in their names should pay royalties to me [shrugs and laughs]. But my ‘boy’ has a ‘w,’ so it’s ageless. So I guess that differentiates me [laughs].” Stonebwoy told Pulse Nigeria in an interview.
Stonebwoy is currently promoting his newly released single ‘Activate’ which features Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido.
