#tunesXmuse: 5 Ghanaian Albums you should get ready for

If it is one thing Ghanaian music fans love to hear then it has to be their favourite musician announcing a new single or project could be album or E.P.
2020 has so far seen projects from rapper Joey B ‘Lava Feels’, Shatta Wale ‘The Manacles of a Shatta’, Darko Vibes ‘Kpanlogo’ and many more.

But with three months more to end the year 2020 which has been a very strange one, of course, fans can expect more projects from their favourites most especially debut projects which are more often the best of any artistes body of work.

Below let’s check out five (5) forthcoming albums set to be released before the close of the year.

1 – Kuami Eugene – Son of Africa

After releasing a commercially successful debut album ‘Rockstar’ in 2019, Kuami Eugene has released four songs ‘Turn Up’, Ghana We Dey which featured Shatta Wale and Samini, chart-topping ‘Open Gate’ which will serve as the lead single to his forthcoming sophomore album and the latest single ‘Waye Awie’ which featured Gospel Singer Obaapa Christy.

Rockstar was received with much positive reviews from critics therefore much is been expected from the ‘Angela’ singer for his ‘Son of Africa’ album which is scheduled for release in October. On August 8th the ‘Open Gate’ singer released the track-list for ‘Son of Africa’ with features from Falz, Zlatan, Eddie Kenzo, Shatta Wale, Samini, Prince Bright, Sarkodie, DJ Mensah and Obaapa Christy.

Kuami Eugene definitely has a message for Africa with his album and I can’t wait what he has been preparing since his successful debut album.

2 – Kelvyn Boy – Black Star

On June 21 2019, then signed to Burniton Music Group, Afrobeat and AfroDancehall Singer Kelvyn Boy released his debut project ‘T.I.M.E EP’ which featured his former label boss Stonebwoy, and also his chart-topping single ‘Mea’ with rapper Joey B.

A year on from his E.P’s release, the singer has now parted ways with Burniton Music Group and has since been working with Bk Records which owned by Stonebwoy’s former manager Blakk Cedi.

Kelvyn Boy has so far released several singles most notably ‘Yawa No Dey’, which many fans thought was a subliminal to his former boss Stonebwoy as it was released at a time where the singer had parted ways with the label.
On May 3, 2020, the ‘Killa Killa’ singer revealed his debut studio album ‘Black Star’ was scheduled for release for summer but due to the global pandemic, of course, the release date was pushed back.

Kelvyn Boy then revealed the album will consist of 12 songs, with 8 guest features but only revealed one name of the guest features which is singer Efya.

Kelvyn Boy since then has been teasing fans with the hashtag #BlackStarAlbum but finally revealed the new date for his album which is 18th September 2020.

In 2020 so far Kelvyn Boy has released five singles which include his chart-topping single ‘Killa Killa’ and now fans are eager to stream his debut studio as the singer has become one of the leading artistes in the AfroReggae and Afrobeats Genre.

3 – Adina – Araba

Adina in 2018 became the second female other than Efya to win the Best Female Vocalist of the year back to back with her hit single ‘Makoma’ which featured Sarkodie.

Adina Thembi has since then released several chart-topping singles and embarked on a Pacific Ocean Tour last year.
On July 27th 2020, the ‘Sika’ singer surprised fans after she announced her debut album ‘Araba’ via a post on Instagram.

Adina then shared the track-list for the album which will consist of 10 songs. ‘Why’ was then released as the lead single off the album, a song that captures the sultry voice of Adina in a sweet reggae melody infused with a Ghanaian vibe and head bopping beat.

The album has been described as the musical journey of the Ghanaian South African born Singer with all songs recorded and produced by veteran record producer Richie Mensah.

The album so far has no release date but sources close to the camp of Adina Thembi believes it will be released before the close of the year 2020.

4 – Bosom P-Yung – Sad Boy With Love Songs

No artist had the best opening to the year 2020 than Traditional Trap Artist Bosom P-Yung with his viral single ‘Atta Adwoa’.

The unofficial visuals for his single ‘Atta Adwoa’ which was initially released on 13 June 2019 on his SoundCloud page hit the internet and became an instant hit for music fans across Ghana and even the world.

Since then Bosom P-Yung has worked with some of the biggest names in the music scene in Ghana such as Sarkodie, Joey B, Wendy Shay and more.

Bosom P-Yung also proceeded to release singles ‘Berma’, ‘GyimiGyimi’, to prove he is not a one-hit-wonder or viral sensation who just pass by once a year as we have had in the past.

Bosom first teased the album with a tweet on June 30th 2020 with the hashtag #SadBoyWithLoveSongs and ever since fans have been waiting on the project.

Bosom P-Yung’s debut is rumored to be released next month after the rapper made a tweet but with no specific details about the album but fans are hopeful the album will be released on that day.

5 – Fameye – Greater Than

After breaking through with his single ‘Notin I Get’, Fameye is yet to slow down with his works as he was awarded Best New Artist at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Fameye after his viral single ‘Notin I Get’ had to deal with label issues after exiting his label OGB Music, many had thought this will slow the ‘Mati’ singer but little did we know he had prepared more bangers and hit singles coming.

With several chart-topping singles and collaborations, as usual, many music lovers are looking forward to Fameye releasing his first debut project.
On 1 August the singer announced via his twitter feed the title and cover art for his debut album Greater Than.

Fameye later released featured artist on the album with names such as Bisa Kdei, M.anifest, B4bonah, Kidi, Amakye Da Rapper and Pappy Kojo.

The album has no release date yet but is definitely one of the albums you must look forward to as Fameye over the past year has proven to be a great singer and songwriter with more relatable lyrics.

The year 2020 might have been a tough one but at least we have a great line up of music to add to our playlist and hopefully, we get to jam to all these songs in December when Covid-19 is no more.
