Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur was crowned the rapper of the year at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Awards but a section of Ghanaians believe he didn’t deserve it.

Some fans rooted for Strongman or Eno, but here are three reasons we believe Kwesi Arthur deserves the best rapper category.
First of all to those saying Kwesi Arthur released just one rap song in 2019, it is obvious you have a short memory.
In 2019, Kwesi Arthur released over 5 pure rap hip hop songs – Walk, Zombie, Elevate, Thoughts From King Arthur 3, 4 and 5.
Let me also remind you of one thing that happened on 21st June 2019, Kwesi Arthur shook the rap game with just a line – “Rapper of the year don’t be silly”, does it ring a bell? If yes then please don’t be silly because that line instigated the beef between Medikal and Strongman.
Finally, let me shift the discussion to influence and impact.
Kwesi Arthur has been instrumental in the grounding of the Drill genre in Ghana. That is the genre that has given the ‘Kumerican’ Rappers the buzz.
His song, ‘Thoughts from King Arthur 5’ released 10 months ago, was fuelled by Drill music (Pop Smoke – Dior).
‘Thoughts From King Arthur 5’ is a big deal and interestingly that same song won him the Best Rapper of the Year.
But wait ooo, did you vote?
