We Are Millennial Culture

Cuppy’s Debut Album, Original Copy, will not Only Entertain but Will Set the Record Straight. Here is why

DJ Cuppy who has over the years built for herself a solid reputation as one of the most solid DJs from Africa to reckon with, has in recent times expanded her brand from being just the DJ we know her for to be an artist on her own.

With big songs like Greenlight, Gelato, Vybe, Currency, among others to her name, Cuppy has over the years worked with Award-winning Artists like Sarkodie, Zlatan, Tekno to mention a few Cuppy for some reason does not feel like she is being given the chance as a real artist and only looked at from the lens of a DJ ergo, her decision to drop the Original Copy Album.

Speaking with Muse Africa, Cuppy expressed that, this body of work from her dropping on the 21st of August 2020, will finally set the records straight with her and will hopefully make people see her more than just a DJ and give her a real chance as a creative.

To her even though she has so many awards to her name, finishing this album and putting g it out is her own personal achievement that makes her feel like she is doing what she was called to do.

Using her song with one of her favorite voices in Africa, Efya, as her intro, Cuppy is particularly thrilled about the Epe song and all other songs on the album and can’t wait for the whole world to hear it on the 21st of August 2020. Other songs the world should expect are: Wale with Wyclef Jean, Feel Good with Fireboy DML, Cold Heart Killer with Darkoo, Litty Lit with Teni, Seyi Shay, and some few others.

In about a week to the release of the Album, Cuppy has already dropped one of the major hits on the song which features the award-winning Ghanaian reggae-dancehall act Stonebwoy, Karma.

Prior to dropping Karma, Jollof on the Jet, which features Rema and Rayvanny has amassed over 3M streams, was the first song off the album the artist Nigerian musician dropped.

Commenting on why she decided to drop her debut album in such a confusing COVID-19 era, Cuppy responded that

I was speaking to my team about it, but after a while, I decided that you know what, I wanna provide good music, I wanna provide music that makes people feel lifted up and so even though it’s annoying that I can’t perform and do things I wanna do, but my intention is to spread love and since that is my true intention then that is what I need to do.

Stressing that: I can not wait, I hope everybody will buy my album, I can wait to give it to the world. It’s on now, you can preorder it or pre add it. https://linktr.ee/Cuppymusic
