Sarkodie supports Edem’s call for a well-structured Ghana Music Industry

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has joined Edem’s call to get a better royalty structure in the Ghanaian music.

In a series of tweets, Edem revealed Ghanaian artists were hungry as most only made money through performances and since the COVID-19 has led to a ban on public gathering most artists were not getting paid.

Edem went ahead to criticize the royalty structures as he could not understand why an artist like Sarkodie couldn’t make ¢20,000 from his 10 years of being in the music industry.

Though Ghana has a royalty collection society – GHAMRO, many artists complain of how the royalty revenue is little or non-existent.

Sarkodie in a tweet, supported Edem’s call for a better structure.

He wrote;

I’m with you brother @iamedem
