Ghanaian rap doctor Okyeame Kwame has once again gone into his archives and shared the story behind his first paycheck as an artist.
Okyeame Kwame revealed in 1993, he earned ¢2.5 million Ghana (Now estimated at ¢250) after placing second in a competition held at the Golden Tulip Hotel Kumasi.
Even though he came second, a CEO of a record label further added another ¢2.5 million because he felt Okyeame Kwame was rather the winner of the competition.
Thus Okyeame Kwame’s first paycheck as an artist was ¢ 5 million (¢500).
