Sarkodie reveals how Beyonce’s Lion King Project featuring Shatta Wale helped him seal a deal

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has revealed how Beyonce’s afrobeat themed The Lion King; The Gift Album helped him to seal a contract in London.

Speaking on the Dentaa Show, the BET winner, he was going through a tough time of sealing a deal in London because his partners did not understand the Afrobeat movement but in the same week Beyonce released the album featuring Shatta Wale, Burna Boy and more, the deal was sealed.

“I was in London having a meeting with these people trying to seal this deal; they were white people. I could see they were not really getting the afrobeat thing, that same week Beyonce drops that project… That same week I was able to seal that contract,’ Sarkodie told Dentaa

Sarkodie was also of the view Ghanaian thought it was fake when he expressed his joy of seeing Shatta Wale getting featured on the album because they are used to enjoying rivalries instead of seeing artists unite.
