Born on 17 May 1986 Richie Mensah better known by his stage name Richie, is an award-winning Ghanaian singer-songwriter and record producer.
Richie started producing records while studying computer software engineering at NIIT, Accra.
In 2006, Richie set up his record label Lynx Entertainment and went on to sign ASEM, OJ Blaq, Irene Logan, Eazzy, Zigi, and MzVee.
Currently, Lynx Entertainment is home to DopeNation, Kidi & Kuami Eugene.
As a producer, Richie has an impressive catalog. His first major musical success was Asem’s Give Me Blow and that catapulted Richie to the top of the production chain.
Richie has worked with Tinny, Okyeame Kwame, VIP, Praye, Bradez, Efya, Irene Logan, Shatta Wale, Jupitar, Stonebwoy, Obour, Becca and several other big names in the Ghanaian music industry. He also worked on Originality the third album of Nigerian R&B star Faze.
Richie has twice been crowned Producer of the year at Ghana Music Awards.
In 2008, Richie and Okyeame Kwame changed the face of the game when they popularized crank in Ghana through the song Woso. During that period Richie was the go-to producer and reports have it that he was one of the highest-earning producers during that era.
Richie however, has taken a step back from music production as he now mainly handles corporate jingles and works but still supervises musical works that come out of Lynx Entertainment in his capacity as CEO.
One thing Ghanaians will always remember a Richie production by will be his tones, sound texture, and tag ‘You know the name right.’
